SMS Communications

We collect SMS consent when you provide your phone number and actively check an opt-in box during booking or sign-up. The checkbox is unchecked by default—you must manually check it to consent to receive SMS messages.

When you provide your phone number and consent via the checkbox, you agree to receive text messages (SMS) from Bookit. These messages are transactional only and include:

• Verification codes to confirm your phone number
• Appointment confirmation messages
• Appointment reminder messages (typically sent 24 hours before your appointment)
• Cancellation or rescheduling notifications

We do not send promotional or marketing SMS messages.

Message frequency varies based on your appointment activity. Standard message and data rates may apply. We use Twilio, a third-party service provider, to deliver SMS messages.

Sharing of Information

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We use third-party services like Twilio to send SMS messages and cloud hosting providers to store data. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and may only use it to provide services to us.
• Business Owner (for clients): When you book an appointment, your name, phone number, and appointment details are shared with the service provider you're booking with.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

We do not sell your data to anyone.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as you have an active account with Bookit. After you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except as required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct your information through your account settings
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal information
